In consultation with the school administration, the Teacher Librarian is instrumental in acquiring relevant library resources in the most expedient way, at the lowest cost.  There are several sources for your resource purchases.

Local Bookstores

Purchasing items from the stock of a local bookstore in person is often the speediest way of getting your books.  Bookstores however tend to provide fewer services than what school libraries might expect.  Specialized bookstores do not always have a comprehensive stock, but may be just right for some specific purchases.  Local bookstores often do not offer discounts for school purchases.

Online Bookstores

Online bookstores offer a large inventory and convenient ordering.  Be careful though, shipping charges may be high.

Publishers

Publishers may have copies of out of print books.  Sometimes it may be worth a phone call to see if a much needed book may be available.

Vendors

As a type of dealer between the publisher and the buyer, vendors tend to provide the best selection and service.
